Ep. 32: Does age matter when using essential oils? Part 2 of our Safety 3 part series

SHOW NOTES

What You’ll Learn

In this episode, Rachael, Rhonda, and Nikki go over Essentria’s Dermal Dilution by Age guide which shows how much essential oil you could use depending on the age of the person using the blend.

If you haven’t listened to part 1 of this 3-part series, check out episode #31

It is very important to take the age of the person using the essential oils into account.

Kids are more sensitive and need less essential oils than adults, and many times aren’t needed at all.

  • Carrier oils and hydrolats are great options to use without essential oils

  • Do NOT round up your drops. If a partial drop is recommended, round down to the last full drop. Example: 2.5 drops would mean you can put up to 2 drops.

  • Refer back to our safety Dilution Chart to know how many drops are needed for a certain percentage.

  • You do not need to smell the essential oils in your blend, they will still have therapeutic value.

Remember LESS IS MORE! Start at the lowest dilution. You can always go lower than what is stated If needed you can gradually increase the essential oils used.

Don’t forget to print off your dilution guide. You can laminate it for long term use!

Stay tuned for episode #33 where we explore how we should dilute for different situations.
