What does aromatherapy education look like with Essentria Inc.?
We are fully recognized by both the Canadian Federation of Aromatherapists (CFA) and the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA).
Our program costs are assessed based on costs to provide the program and we try to keep it as cost-effective as possible because we believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn how to use aromatherapy safely. We also offer payment plans.
Our Clinical Aromatherapy Certification course requires all our students to write the CFA national exam regardless of the association you intend to join because this will give you the option to join any association in the world and so much more. We want to give you the best start, certification matters
We also offer other NAHA level courses like Foundations of Aromatherapy and Foundations of Aromatherapy for Wellness Advocates but they will exclude you from CFA membership.
As of 2020, we are a fully recognized education institute in Canada. This allows all our Canadian students to receive an income tax credit for personal taxes.
Our main Clinical Aromatherapy program timeline is 2 years and is fully online. This means you can access the educational material from any device and you have up to 2 years to complete it (some will complete in 6 months, some in one year, others in two. You choose your pace). We also offer a fabulous Facebook student group for students to post and we usually are able to promptly answer any questions, depending on time zones.
We are an international school, so we actually have students from over 80 countries throughout the world, which means you can develop life long aromatherapy friendships with people across the globe. If you haven’t read our instructor bios and history, the instructors actually developed their own friendships doing exactly this, studying aromatherapy.
We are a relatively newer school, so our educational content has been created with the most up to date information and we are committed to keeping it that way.
Our course was designed with a few unique things in mind, for example, we all have experience as entrepreneurs so we have a great business section built into the courses and we offer a free business course to help you decide if starting a business or employment is ideal for you. Additionally, we have developed and will likely continue to develop more business courses at an extremely low cost to help you actually put this education to good use.
Some of our backgrounds are in business, other holistic modalities, education, and so much more. One founder is qualified in Aromatic Medicine while the other two are currently completing their education in Aromatic Medicine. This allows us a deeper understanding of aromatherapy.
Our course requires 3 assignments, a mock case study assignment to help get the student ready for real case studies, a chemistry assignment that will teach you aroma chemistry concepts in a way that’s understandable to anyone, even those with no chemistry training, and a video assignment, designed to help us give you tips and tricks you can use in your real aromatherapy practice.
We also require 30 case studies on real people.
We offer over 70 essential oils in our curriculum, with an average chemistry breakdown, subtle uses, emotional uses and physiological uses.
We also have a fun bonus chakra section built into the course.
Lastly, we have a research assignment that will help you discover new detailed areas of aromatherapy and understand what researching really is. This is important because after education, the research never stops, so we want our students to have the tools to research, write blogs and grow professionally.
Who is our course not for?
Our course is not for anyone looking for in-person classes as we do not offer this, however we are happy to connect on email and in our exclusive Facebook Group for students and have been known to have meetings via online video chat with students when they needed more support. Your success is important to us, but with many students all over Canada and the world, we cannot offer in-person support.
